Cables are an easy way to add personality and texture to your knitting. If you wanted to try your first cable, but were afraid to dive in….then this is the class for you. We will explore the basics of beautiful cables including understanding charts and learning tricks and tips to make them look like you have been “cabling” for years.
Materials: A NEUTRAL colored worsted weight yarn and the appropriate needles (6, 7, or 8!)
A cable needle (A double point needle will work fine!)
Row counter
Standard equipment of scissors, tape measures, tapestry needles, stitch markers, etc.
Homework:
CO 30 sts.
KNIT 4 rows. (Garter Stitch edge!)
Then:
Row 1: K10, p2, k6, p2, k10.
Row 2: K2, p8, k2, p6, k2, p8, k2.
Repeat Rows: 1 & 2 for a total of 6 rows.
