Have you ever “accidentally” knitted in the back of your stitch…thus twisting it? Well, in this hat, designed by Charles Gandy, you will knit every stitch in the back, incorporating a technique called a TWISTED TRAVELING STITCH.
Any visitor to Reykjavik, Iceland will be inspired by the city’s Hallgrim Church whose contemporary gothic lines soar above the city. This hat, featuring a twisted traveling stitch, captures the lines of this iconic building in a fun and interesting pattern.
We learn the basic technique plus (if you like!) a special TUBULAR CAST ON.
Materials:
300 yards of DK weight yarn, 16” US 5 circular needle, and magic loop, DPNs, or two circular needles for the crown.
